"Why did you write a book at all?"
"The idea for the book didn't come from me. The story goes like this: Reports about me appeared in Swiss newspapers and on the radio.
The representative of a book publishing house read them and asked me if she could publish a book about my expedition on Everest. I was not really keen about writing a book... I only accepted on the condition that she would cover all the costs.
The editor sent me a ghost writer. He was supposed to interview me and write a text - I quickly realised that it would be more authentic if I would write everything myself - the result was the book "Illegal am Everest", published 2018 in German.
